Jim Duster – Sales Data & Process Visuals

Jim helped scale sales teams, processes and revenues at NetQoS (sold to CA for $200M), ITMasters (sold to BMC for $42M), and Software Spectrum (went public in Dallas).  Jim’s specialty is creating sales operating visuals including Sales Scorecards.

Which look like one of those collectible baseball cards you collected as a youth and shows each sales team “batting averages” on key metrics such as First Meetings, Evals, Sales by Product, Quota by Source and also “league standings” to understand how each team compares to Best Team in Company and Best Team in Industry.  These scorecards help Sales Management have conversations with team members that are both productive and motivating.

Jim answers questions such as:  Do we have enough sales activities to achieve our revenue goals?  Which of our sales teams and individuals are leading the averages and why?  How can we on board sales team members faster and get them producing in month 2, not month 5?  Sales needs more Operations strength, how can we process leads, RFP’s, proposals, quotes, take customer orders and set quotas and then pay our sales commissions more efficiently and effectively to increase sales production, not hinder it?  How can I create a sales culture that makes individuals so successful they refuse to leave and entice their industry peers to join them?

Jim holds a BBA in Accounting from The University of Iowa and was awarded a CPA in the State of Iowa on the first sitting, which fewer than 20% of CPA’s have done.  Jim lived in Dublin, Ireland 2 years and Stuttgart, Germany 3 years.  Jim is raising two children he and his wife Char adopted from Russia.

Kathie Wood – Sourcing Specialist

Kathie has many years working in the medical field, first as a Paramedic and then in a doctor’s office.  As a Paramedic she learned to be innovative, multi-task, think quick and react even faster. Kathie is exceptionally good at dealing with a diverse group of people because of her medical background, this vertical is, after all, about customer service and accountability.

In her roll in a physician’s office Kathie was often called upon to add employees to the field.   She interviewed many applicants and advanced the ones that she felt were the best fit to the position needed.  New employees came to her for help and advice when they did not feel comfortable going to their direct supervisor.  No matter how busy she was she always found time to help them.  Kathie became the “go to” person in the office and has morphed into that role again with us at OSS Consulting’s. In the roll of assisting in the staffing of new positions Kathie realized an aptitude for sourcing and finding the right person for the right job fast.

In her spare time Kathie enjoys spending time with her daughters and friends.  An evening alone is a treat where she can curl up on the sofa with her two Maine Coon cats, a glass of wine, and a good book.
